Life Assurance Schemes Review

The client had recently merged with another organisation to form a company with around 10,000 employees.  Due to the merger (and previous mergers before this), there were three Life Assurance Schemes in place with nine different benefit categories.  One Pension Consultancy reviewed the benefits with the aim of simplifying the benefit structure and bringing all employees under one scheme.  As a result of the review a new scheme was set up incorporating three categories for on-going employees.  The advantages of this were:
  • A simplified administration system for the company
  • At least the same benefits (and in many cases increased benefits) for employees
  • A cost saving of approximately 10%
